A Sassy and Classy 39th Birthday

Birthdays only come once a year and this very special birthday was for the Hostess. The theme of this party was Sassy and Classy, the main theme centered around hot pink and Martinis. A very simple and intimate gathering with close friends and family.

Martinis

The Hostess has taken a liking to the Pear Lychee Martini. You can find the recipe here. It is a very delicious and refreshing martini. To be able to quickly serve this cocktail we prepared a large batch. The best part of doing so was letting it sit over night in the refrigerator. The lychee infused in the cocktail and made it even better.

Normally we would like to use disposable cups, but you truly need to enjoy this in a martini glass. The pink ones with the attachable base is normally our go to but not this time. The theme was hot pink and the disposable pink martini glasses would have been ideal. However, for this event we purchased the Crate & Barrell Martini glasses.

Its always so hard not to lose your glass at a party. We purchased a unique martini glass for us the Host and Hostess. Mainly because the Hostess was the Woman of the hour. Also for a better reason, which was that our martini glasses stood out and easy for us to find. We still wanted to find a way for the guests not lose their glass. We found and purchased these rings with customizable charms from Amazon. Although you could do different charms, we chose the alphabetical charms. We put it in a bowl and let the guest create their own with their name, nickname or initials.

Décor

Balloon garlands are very on trend right now. Especially since helium has become so scarce and expensive. The balloon garlands are way cheaper and you can create your own. You could always hire someone if this not your thing, but in a home party situation, its great because you could always blow them up the day or two before. In our case, it was indoors and lasted almost 2 weeks.

Wanting to achieve the full look, we used about 1 and half kits. Ignore the freebie plastic ribbon with the cut outs, they do not work well. Instead you could use fishing line, this is what I found works the best for us. It also depends if you are going to put it on ring or have tied to a beam.

Color Scheme and Dress Code

On our invitation we suggested a dress code of Hot Pink. Our guests really went out of their way and came dressed to impress.
