Cruzan Confusion Recipe

If you’ve ever been to the Virgin Islands, you’d be familiar with Cruzan Rums. As soon as you step on the island you are greeted with your own personal samples in their variety of flavors. The shots are super smooth and super tasty, taste just like candy. By far the best cocktail made with Cruzan Rums is their Cruzan Confusion. The perfect mixed drink for a beachfront relaxation. Also great for a taste of the Islands when you are away.

Cruzan confusion is obviously best made with Cruzan rums. It may not be so easy to find on the mainland. A substitute would work just fine. At the end of day, we’re just giving credit where its due. If you find yourself in the Virgin Islands, make sure to order a Cruzan Confusion. A little bit of a warning, it tastes like candy but the alcohol will sneak up on you. Please note, this drink could be confused for a fruit punch or lemonade. If you are serving this at a party where kids are present, please label it appropriately.

The Cruzan Confusion is essentially made up of Cruzan Coconut Rum, Cruzan Mango Rum, and Pineapple Juice. The ratios aren’t exactly specified, but you can’t go wrong with equal parts of each. It can be modified to less pineapple juice to lessen sweetness or more to lessen alcohol. Fresh Pineapple juice would be ideal. However, you can just do the Dole Pineapple Juice in the can. Alternatives for the Cruzan Rum can be found at Total Wine and More. Largo Bay, Malibu or even Bacardi. Don’t forget to garnish it with a sliver of pineapple.

Ingredients

  • 2 Oz Coconut Rum

  • 2 Oz Mango Rum

  • 2 Oz Pineapple Juice

Directions

  • Mix equal parts of Coconut Rum, Mango Rum and Pineapple Juice
  • Served over ice. Garnish with a sliver of Pineapple.

Notes

  • This is a great mixed drink to make in a large batch and serve in a dispenser.
  • Although the recipe shows Coconut and Mango rum, you can create your own flavors using any other flavors of Cruzan Rums.
