Espresso Martini

The first time I heard this ordered, I was a bit skeptical. However, the idea is not too far fetched as other Coffee-Based Alcoholic Drinks have already been popular. After trying it, all I can say is… “Delicious”. Espresso Martini goes perfect with dessert especially if you normally drink coffee.

The ingredients are very simple especially if you have Nespresso Machine. Quickly pour Vodka, Kahlua, Simple Syrup into a shaker with ice and add a shot of espresso. Give it a quick shake, top it with coffee beans and Voila, a delicious and rich tasting cocktail. The simple syrup is optional. It does complete the taste in our opinion. Also it balances the bitter coffee taste that people normally cover up with creamer. However if you are trying to reduce sugar intake, it will taste just as great with less or no simple syrup.

We recommend chilled espresso so that the ice doesn’t melt from a hot shot of espresso. You could prepare the shots ahead of time and put it in the refrigerator. If you don’t have time for that you could put it in the freezer for a minute. Also, if you don’t have an espresso machine or a way to make espresso, try it with brewed coffee. If you are going to buy a Nespresso Machine, we recommend one that uses the original capsules. From personal experience the Vertuo line espresso shots are too foamy. The original capsules are cheaper as well, but ultimately Its a personal preference.
